Monday Run Log and Comments
Today I ran in the morning, first time in a long time, and I ran inside on the treadmill. 35 minutes, 4.5 miles exactly. Weather inside was delightful. Also, I lifted weights for a little bit, mainly working on my shoulder muscles, which are very weak. Tomorrow I will work out back, if I am not too sore of course, but it is my big run day and I am already getting that nervous stomach.

Monday I had a good run w/ a new best time for 2.25 miles. Tuesday was a bit tough to get out of bed after Halloween. It was still a decent run, but 10 second slower than Monday. This morning I slept in. The two things that always kill me are injuries and getting sick. I wasn't feeling hot on Monday. But by Wednesday I was enough to keep me in bed for the extra 50 minutes of sleep.
I'm very curious about your big run. How did it go?
We need to get on the phone about the weight loss thing. The biggest think I'd say is that you should never try to loose weight by stopping eating. I've dropped 20 pounds in 70 days, but I've been eating well the whole time.
yeah, starving yourself is definitely the wrong way to do it, but I am not sure I can do the protein shake, salad thing either. That just doesn't fit in with the fact that I prepare a lot of the meals for the family and the family wouldn't be supportive of protein shakes and salads. Don't want to make three separate meals for dinner. The big things I am trying this week is no snacking before bed, and no candy. We shall see.
Sorry that you don't feel good. It can be real hard to exercise when you don't feel good and dangerous sometimes too. The rule usually followed by runners anyway is if the symptoms are above the neck you can exercise but if they are below the neck you shouldn't. Of course if you have a good fever you need to be careful regardless.
What was your new best time for Monday's run? Somewhere around 18 or 19 minutes? I thought you said that you ran a 8.45 pace last Friday or Saturday?
