Thursday, Friday, Pocket PC
On Thursday I ran a 7:13 pace, but can't remember time of mileage. It was around three miles and 20 minutes, somewhere in there. I lifted shoulders. Had all the information entered in the pocket pc and this morning come to find the battery completely drained again. I figured out the problem, it is on in my pocket all day at school, and drains the battery. Solution, I need a hardcase to carry it in.
Friday. Did legs this morning, followed by 3 miles in 21:44. That's a 7:15 pace. Weight=186 pre-workout with full clothes, and yesterday's body fat was back down to 23%, which is where I left off in the Bay Area before coming home. Went to class for an hour, back to the gym for abs and obliques and then ran intervals on the treadmill. It worked out to be 3.5 miles in 25 minutes, average pace then is 7:09 but the workout was up and down. I found this nice treadmill at school that lets you enter in programs. It was 7 intervals of 1:40 each, at a 9.0 mph pace followed by an interval of 7.5 mph pace. The last three intervals I got sequentially faster to finish at a 9.5 mph pace. Got my heart rate up to 185 a couple of times, but my legs felt fine even after this morning. However, I made sure to stretch extra long and good when I finished. Talk to you later.

You're a stud. Sounds like you've got a great balance of lifting and running. I'd last for two intervals at 9.0 and 7.5 if I was lucky.
And you’re loosing weight; 186 pounds fully clothed and probably having eaten is more like 181 or 182 pounds. I've actually been surprised how I dropped weight coming off vacation. Pre-Christmas I’d plateaued at 178’ish for about six weeks. Over the holidays I ate very loosely and returned home about 181. Now I’ve quickly dropped back below my plateau to 176. And the good news is I was at 17.5% bf yesterday w/o cheating.
So it’s probably not bad to have a high calorie week once a quarter or so. The human body adapts too well.
On Thursday I did my full 2.75 miles in 21:12 for a 7:43 pace; a personal best at this distance. But I really wanted to quit at 2.5 miles. Adding the next quarter mile is much hard than I’d thought. After running with you two at longer distances I figured it wouldn’t be that tough. I was wrong. The good news is I think I’ve got my legs back. This morning leg workout was great, but I don’t feel like it’s going to hurt my Saturday run. I was walking very gingerly after Monday’s leg workout.
The swimming DVD is copied and in an envelope so I’ll mail it today and you should have it by the middle of next week. Do you have access to a pool? It would also be good to work with someone on the technique.
I was noticing the low end Palm is only $100 on the Palm website and it’s more powerful than the one you had that died. If the Pocket PC isn’t going to work you could probably find a good palm out there for less than $100. Good luck and I’ll catch you later.
Nice work Jason. I totally agree with you on the weight/food topic. The body definitely adapts and that's why I think variation is good for not only what exercizes you do but what food you eat. The weight seems to be coming right off for me as well, already below pre-christmas weight. Although I just ate a bowl of cereal and am feeling pretty bloated right now.
I have access to a pool, but need to figure out when that acces is, if you know what I mean. The high school across the street from Palmer allows us to use their pool a couple of times a week, I just don't know what they are yet.
The pocket pc is going to work great, I just need to find a case that I like. I will be checking that out tomorrow probably. Tchau.
Good work guys. I am seriously inspired by reading about your efforts and progress. Unfortunately yesterday got a little busier than I wanted and I never could get out to run. I did get to play basketball today though. I told the ward sports guy that if they ever had only 4 guys who could come to a game give me a call and I'd be the 5th. Today was one of those days. So I got to go play bball for an hour or so. The cool thing is I actually scored about 17 points, including a 3 pointer and 2 foul shots. It was really fun seeing the guy that was marking me suck wind. Bad news is we lost by 4 points. Oh well. I just weighed myself though, and like the twos of yous I have dropped to pre-Christmas as well. Just weighed in at 178. Now I need to get started writing a paper for a conference in September. Back to work! Love you both, Mike.
