Nothin'... again

Sure wish I had something to say. Unfortunately I don't. I have been taking care of Brayden and the house for the past little while now. Natalie really gets hit hard by the whole pregnancy thing. We did get to go on vacation for a couple days during spring break though. We went down to Ohio to play at an indoor water park. It was really fun. I am still sad that Natalie got sick when John and Christy were supposed to come out though. It would have been so much fun to see you guys. Natalie is over strep now though, just still suffering from the human leech sapping her strength. On Monday I am going to hang out on Central Campus, so I am looking forward to running then, for the first time in quite a while. Maybe I'll even have to be trendy and take my new toy with me. I got a Creative Zen Nano Plus this afternoon so that I can listen to general conference and other books in general on MP3. I also finally bought the mounting kit to put my old MP3 playing CD-player in the Corolla. I think it will be really nice to be able to listen to conferency while running/biking/walking to school/etc... I really enjoyed listening to conference in the car, and listening to The Da Vinci Code was fun too. We'll see how things work out.

Guess what? I finally got out to go run today. I didn't really keep track of how far I ran, I just ran for 30 minutes and called it good. After running about 15 minutes though I realized that I was passing by a really big clock every lap and that the seconds hand was on 20 for quite a few laps in a row. So I thought about it a bit and came to the conclusion that I was holding an 8min/mile pace. Not too bad, but not great either. My shoes are about dead though, because by the end my right pinky toe was hurting pretty good. Turns out I got a pretty big blood blister right on the outside end of the toe. Bummer. Hopefully it will die down a bit before basketball on Thursday night. Feels good to be sore again though.

Good job Mike, sorry about the toe though. Wasn't the Da Vinci Code really good? I can't wait for the movie. We are bummed that we couldn't come see you, hopefully during this semester some time? Anyway, nothing really to add except that I rode my bike, on the trainer, for about 70 minutes on Saturday. It will be nice to get back to a regular schedule again since tomorrow is my first day back to school. Peace out.

Good job Mike. Sorry to hear it's been tough around your place. Life can do that to you. At least it's not boring.

Saturday I did my regular run at my regular pace. A little under 8:00. To quote Mike, "Not too bad, but not great either." The weekend turned into a tough one for us. The kids seem to be getting better, but poor little Aly is getting sores in her mouth from the antibiotics. We didn't really catch one until Saturday night just how little she'd been eating. And by the time we did she was pretty hungry and cranky, but didn't want to eat anything due to the pain.

So Saturday night to Sunday was a lot of getting up and comforting and trying to get her to eat something and then she would and then she'd start crying because it hurt and then Ben woke up to see what as happening and then I just wanted to sleep for a couple of hours.

Sunday was a bit better. I stayed with the kids (just being careful) while Kristi went to church to be sustained as the primary president.

By the time we got to Monday I skipped my leg workout and went to work early. I almost skipped my run this morning because we were up late and in the middle of the night with Ben having nightmares. But I ran for a little any way.

I miss the days of going to sleep at 10:00 waking up at 5:30 and working out. I'm sure we'll get back on schedule.

Wow, you have both been dealing with it. And Kristi is the new Primary President to boot? Was there ever a more perfect calling for her? She is probably nervous, but I think she is going to be fantastic. Sorry to hear about the twins. When did Ben start having bad nightmares?, what about? Just curious.

I started my new semester today. Got up at 5:30, lifted chest, got up to 185 for both flat and decline bench. Then I went upstairs to run for a little while. I will have to get up a little bit earlier if I amgoing to both lift weights and run. I wanted to do a 5 k but I knew I wasn't going to have enough time. Instead, I ran 2 miles. my time was 13:16. AHR=171, MHR=179, 6:38 pace. I could have gone 3.1 at that pace but I just didn't want to be late for the first day of class. Should have, who needs a stupid syllabus anyway. Oh well. Looking forward to my swim tonight.

He basically started over the weekend. I can't say 100% it's nightmares, but he wakes up crying/screaming in the middle of the night and doesn't want to be in his bed. When he did it Saturday to Sunday the only way to get him to calm down was to go down stairs and turn on the TV. He was back asleep in 5 minutes on the couch so I'm pretty sure he's not doing it just to watch TV in the middle of the night.
Kristi read something say we shouldn't ask him what he was dreaming about because that makes it worse. So I don't know for sure what's going on. It think it could easily be connected to the pneumonia.
I'm sure we'll get traction soon, but a couple of bad nights sets you back quick.
