Monday Musings and a cool website

Hey, today I worked out legs in the weight room and then ran to the mississippi and back (couple hundred feet elevation). This is the first time I have done "true" squats in about 15 years. Needless to say, my hammies and groin muscles are super sore. But I am feeling restless and so I am about to hop on the bike and ride for a bit. I wanted to post a few links of 3 of my favorite runs that I have done in the last week. The longest of the three is the one that I ran last thursday in the freezing cold rain when my Nike+ refused to cooperate:

4.6871 miles. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=514487

Thursday, 5.8977 miles. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=516273
44.12, 7.30 pace

Friday, 2.4665 miles. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=516256
18.30, 7.30 pace
Maybe you'll have to cut and paste, but it is a pretty cool website. Just paste one and then change the 6 digit number in the appropriate place, then you won't need to keep cutting and pasting. Yada yada yada. John

Help

Jason, my nike+ didn't work so well today. It kept shutting off every 2-3 minutes. I assumed it was shutting down and then I would start it back up and not lose anything. When I completed my run it said only 1.56 miles and here is the actual route I ran, 5.75 miles. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=513311 What I am wondering is if there is a way to change the recorded distance via the nike plus website. If you are bored, maybe you could poke around, I will do same later tonight. John out.

Back at it!

Alright everyone it’s time to get back at it! I know we’re all busy, well okay you guys are busy and I’m just looking for a job. It’s no excuse. Let’s start running and blogging about it!

Last week I ran 13 miles: six on Monday; five’ish on Wednesday; and two on Friday. Swam on Tuesday and Thursday and took off the weekend. This week I’m off to a good start with six for Monday as well. And I dropped a minutes off my run this week. I ran at night so it was cooler and I’m sure that helped. My miles were 8:24, 8:35, 9:01, 8:56, 8:44, and 8:51. AHR – 177 bpm and a max of 190 bpm.

Bad news is that I ate half a gallon of ice cream over the weekend. Good news is I didn’t throw my hands up as won the Chicago marathon then slip and crack my skull. Did everybody see that? Ouch!
