Monday Run Log and Comments

Today I ran in the morning, first time in a long time, and I ran inside on the treadmill. 35 minutes, 4.5 miles exactly. Weather inside was delightful. Also, I lifted weights for a little bit, mainly working on my shoulder muscles, which are very weak. Tomorrow I will work out back, if I am not too sore of course, but it is my big run day and I am already getting that nervous stomach.

Saturday Log

Jason, I was inspired by talking with you on the phone the other day, and so I ran today to bring my weekly total to 5. Five is good I think. Today I ran 23:30, out Grand to Bridge st., East on Locust to Eastern and then back home via Duck Creek Trail. Somewhere around 3.0 miles. It was beautiful today and I felt strong but this is the most I've run in 5 years so I made it a shorter run for today. Tomorrow is my day off and then I will run for about 35 minutes on Monday, Tuesday will be my big day. I am shooting for 55 minutes. Don't have my route figured out yet but hopefully not too hilly, maybe along the Mississippi River.

I really enjoyed your comments Jason, I am so amazed at your strength of character, and completely jealous of how quickly you are able to lose weight. One of the reasons I wanted to do this blog thing was so that we could discuss various ideas about working out. What are your goals? I need to get more specific I think. Anyway, peace out for tonight.

Friday Run

Nice outside, only ran for 20 minutes or so, I'm not really sure because I ran without Heart Rate monitor or watch. Every once in a while it helps me to not focus on the numbers or the miles so much, it increases my enjoyment. You should try that sometime Jason, take off outside and don't bring a watch, just run for a ways and enjoy yourself. Maybe once every two or three weeks.

Beautiful weather out here today, nearly 70 degrees, sunny with little wind. Can't wait to go for a run later.
