The last few days...

have been good, took it easy on Saturday and Sunday, and Monday too come to think of it. Today I ran in the morning and swam for a half hour tonight. Both felt great, but I am still having issues with the nike plus transponder unit. I ran 3.4784 ,iles and my time was a little over 27 minutes. Here was my route, if you are interested:

Pace was around 7:45 per mile and it felt great, I wasn't pushing at all today because of my leg, and my heart rate stayed down below 155 the whole time. I hope to go for a 6 or 7 miler tomorrow if my morning rhr is below 60 bpm.

Sorry you're transponder's giving you problems. So did you go up and around the park a couple of times. That makes for a very nice scalable run.

My run on Wed is only 2 miles so I'll likely do that in the morning then swim at night as well. My 7 miles Monday were very slow per the runnersworld.com training schedule. The first time my heart rate stated in the 150's in a long time.

Wed's two miles will be slow as well. I think it's good to change it up; like you said alters the biomechanics. But it's honestly boring to go that slow for seven whole miles.

Friday I've got a 5 miles tempo run, well 3 miles (8:48 pace) are tempo with a mile to warm up and cool down. It all seems very easy, but I'm anxious to see if following an actual program can get me going faster.

I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to do my speedwork out next week. I don't really see how to effectively set it up on my watch so hopefully I can get on at the track up at the high school.

Go to the track, something about being there makes me work a little harder. Keep it up and I know you will see a difference in about 3 or 4 weeks.
