Monday/Tuesday
Biked around 20 minutes on the trainer Monday night. Tuesday night swim. 100 free warm-up, 5x200 (50 br, 100 free, 50 br; 50 ba, 100 free, 50 ba; 50 br, 100 free, 50 br; 200 free; 50 ba, 50 br, 100 free) @ < 4:10, 100 free warm down. Felt great and swam okay. I am getting pretty good at the kick turns, I only touch turned once tonight. My breast/free 200's were always under 3:50 and my final 200 free was around 3:30. Is anybody out there? Are you experiencing difficulties with the new beta blog, or just busy with work and school? Hope all is well.

Yep, definitely having problems with the beta blog but at least it is functional. I'm still very impressed that you guys are swimming at all. It is just not something that I really think I will be getting into. I think I am starting to get back on track with the running at least though. I ran again yesterday. This time I tried a 30 minute run and just figured I'd go whatever speed I felt like and not worry about the distance. So I did a half mile warmup in 4:26 followed by a "fast" mile at 7:53 then another half in 4:21 as a rest, a mile in 7:57, and a cool-down half in 4:29. My fastest 1/4-mile was 1:55 and I sure felt like I was cooking even though I know I wasn't. My slowest 1/4 was a 2:20. In the end I ran 3.5 miles in 29:32, an 8:42 mile pace. The good news on this run is that I really haven't been sore at all from it. The 5.25 mile run of last week left me sore for two days. I'd like to think that it is because I am somehow magically in better shape after running once but really it is just because I didn't run as far and the type of run was more typical of my weekly games of basketball so it was something my body is at least a little bit more used to. Anyway, it was good to run and I felt good having done it. I was disappointed at the end when I weighed in at 186.4 though, half a pound higher than last week. It's going in the wrong direction, but not enough that I think it really means anything or matters at all. I sure love you guys and appreciate the motivation I get from reading about you guys being consistent with your workouts and training programs, not to mention taking active measures to improve your eating habits. I know I need to do it and it helps me to see the two of you going at it full bore. GO TEAM!!!
