6.5 mile slow run
Looks like my final pace ended up at 9:05 on average. Some were a bit under 9 and the slowest was 9:26, don't ask me how that ends up a 9:05 average but no big deal. It was a longer run than I have tried in a few years and it felt good to have done it. I started to get pretty dehydrated at the end though and honestly felt like I was going to pass out. The temperature as posted at the MotionBased link in the title says it wasn't that warm but I think I am used to running in the winter-time now and can't take the heat. Hopefully I will get used to it soon.
I have also been biking to school just about every day now. It takes me about 20 minutes and is about 5 miles to get there. I didn't like biking in before because my back and shoulders would get all sweaty underneath my backpack. Now I bought one of those racks for the back and so I just strap my stuff on there and then take a shower when I get to school. It is working out very nicely. Our scale at home broke so now I can only check my weight on campus but it looks like I am going down some and staying there pretty well. Last week I weighed in at 182.3 on Monday and 181.1 on Wednesday. Today I am at 181.7 so I think that is going alright. A month ago I was hitting 185 pretty consistently, even after running. I think the consistent exercise of biking combined with running is doing some good.

That last post I realized I was signed in as Kristi only after I hit post.
I biked out the 126 towards Filmore today. Round trip was 19.25 miles. Average speed was a very slow 16.7 mph. AHR was 163 bmp.
Just trying to get the feel for the open road. I actually came very close to going down at about 20 mph. That would have hurt.
It's my first time getting out for anything in three weeks. My allergies are bugging me these days. The whole time I was snotting up a storm.
I need to spend more time on the trainer to get used to using those muscles and being in that position. I finally did get some real road bike cloths, but I'm still saddle sore from an hour on the bike.
My constraint on the bike is definitely my legs not my heart and that even after not doing anything recently.
Good times.
Wait a minute... bike clothes? Don't tell me you've converted to full-body spandex?!? The shorts may be tolerable but to go full-body is just too much. Hopefully you will write back soon and tell me you have a moderately loose-fitting shirt and if I'm really lucky a pair of shorts with built-in spandex rather than the straight show-it-all bottoms. Your really slow 16.7 mph is sounding pretty good to me right now though. I think I am averaging around 14-15 mph but that is with about 25 lbs worth of stuff strapped on the back. Or maybe it is because I'm wearing a loose-fitting shirt and a pair of shorts. :) Either way, I'm glad to hear you are out on the bike getting some exercise even though you are fighting the allergies and extreme business at work. Way to go. Talk to you later, Mike.
