Yep

I swam for about a half hour tonight and then ran 3.0 miles on the treadmill. 21:00 minutes exactly, felt strong in my lungs but weak in my legs so I quit. That is all for now. Tomorrow is a bike, run, lift day. I am trying to hit the 20 mile mark this week. Peace...

I ran 2.5 miles this morning, fast pace, but no data. Elly hid my watch on Sunday, so I just ran without it. Felt good.

Saturday

Hey. I had an interesting day at the gym. Great upper body workout in the morning and then I decided that I would do my saturday long run inside on the treadmill instead of outside. It was a little windy but the reason was that I wanted to closely regulate my pace and all conditions. Well, to make a long story short, I bit it hard on the treadmill, jammed a finger (might have dislocated actually, we'll find out tomorrow), twisted my knee and my left hip, and knocked the wind out of myself pretty good. It was also highly embarrassing, but I got over that part pretty quickly. That was round about 1.8 miles. I took a 5 minute respite to gather myself, than ran another 4.2 miles for a total of 6 miles. I was going to run 8-10 miles today but I just didn't feel comfortable after falling. So my pace was 7:26, ahr 155, mhr 158 (nice tight range, I didn't finish fast like usual). Good thing I ran on the treadmill today.

Wednesday and Thursday

Ran a 5k treadmill fun run on Wednesday morning. Nothing fun about, come to think, but whatever. 3.1 miles, 21:03, already erased the heart rate stuff, but it was high for me (~162, I think). Pace puts me at 6:47 min/mile. I want to run the 5k in under 20, that is a 6:27 pace, my fastest mile time in the last 5 years is right around that,...so, it is a high goal, possibly unattainable. It seems almost unbelievable, as I struggle to run a sub 20 minute 5k, that I once ran an 18:10. Amazing what age and inactivity do. Oh yeah, then I lifted upper bod; chest, back, shoulders, and arms.

Thursday afternoon I went for a ride, 10 miles, 34:27, again it was windy, but a little less so. I averaged 17 mph compared to 16 on Tuesday. When it is not windy I can average 20-21 mph. I wanted to average 22 mph for the triathlon, again, that is very ambitious. As the challange draws closer I find myself pondering adjusting my sights a little bit lower. We shall see. Thursday night I swam, short swim this time owing to the fact that I got a late start. You see, we had our first head wound emergency trip last night. You guessed it, ...Elly! Are you kidding me. Christy and I both thought it would be evil knievel, I mean Jonas, we took there first. Elly bonked her head on the baseboard, it was deep but really clean so they were able to just glue her up. Hopefully it won't be a horrible scar, she is so pretty. Anyway, gotta run, literally. OUt

Return to reality

Hey. What's up? Back in Iowa, had a crappy bike ride at lunch yesterday owing to the 25 mph winds that seemed to be right at me no matter what direction I went. Still, I rode for about 8 miles and around a 1/2 hour. Then I had a great swim last night and stayed up until 1:30 am studying for an exam today. I'll be up at least that late tonight for another exam on THursday and then I have two more next week. Aarrrrgh. Oh, Mike and I ran on Monday morning and we went 5.5 miles in 40:54, ahh 155, mhr 175, pace was 7:26. We can argue about mold all you want bud, just it will have to be at the end of next week wehn I emerge from my exam cocoon.

Thursday, Friday

Jason, I didn't kick Mike's butt all over the place. We ran 4 miles or so tonight, 8:15 pace, 33:05, and my heart rate never got above 148. It was fun and we talked the whole time. Maybe we will do soime fast mile runs on Monday and I will kick his butt then. Anyway, I ran yesterday and lifted full body as well. Accidentally recorded over my time but I ran 4 miles at around a 7:30 pace, maybe just a little under. I know the time was 29 something. This morning I swam in the UM Central campus pool and had a great time. Mike wouldn't come with me even though I have an extra pair of goggles, maybe on Monday? Hope you have agood Easter.

the last few days

Hey guys, sorry about the absence, it has been a tough couple of weeks. What with illness and exams and postings being deleted. Anyway, this is a new week so I figured it wouldn't do for me to start off without posting todays info even though I am exhausted.

Ran 3 miles today in 20:54, for a 6:58 pace. 163 ahr, 176 mhr. Felt great but just ran out of time is all. On Saturday I ran for about 7.5 miles and exactly an hour. Not a great pace but it was my first long run in 3 weeks so I was just taking it easy. It was windy and there were a few good hills to climb. It was a blast. Tomorrow is a weights/run/swim day and I am excited, I have the butterflies just thinking about it, I love that. I will check with y'all tomorrow then. Jason, what did you decide to do with your next few months as far as exercize program?
