Monday, Natalie, and Computer stuff
Mike, how is Natalie? I have been thinking about her all day and hope that the biopsy went well, will it take long to get the results back? Was Natalie's mom helpful to have along or did she go nuts on the doctors? Anyway, give me a call when you get the chance. At some point I still want to talk to you about computers. The decision has been virtually made; I am going to buy parts and build my own, but I still want to have your input while I am buying, etc. I don't think I like the newegg site, thus I am leaning towards Tigerdirect. Jason, any input on building a pc?

Wed & Thurs
Upped my weight for Wednesday’s lower body lift. Tried to make sure that my final set for each lift was to failure with good form. I hate it when I get to my final lift for a muscle group and do 12 and then 13, 14, or more before failure. It was a little tough w/o a spot. Kristi decided she’d let me workout solo since it goes faster that way. Read; she didn’t want to get out of bed at 5:30 am.
So as I climbed into bed last night I knew I’d have sore legs this morning. Consequently I made sure to get a good stretch in before starting. But that didn’t really save me. In the end some days are as much about hanging in there as they are the number. I wanted to cut it to 2.0 miles, but made myself keep going until I matched Tuesday’s time. At the end I hit 200 bpm. Normally when I see that number in the memory as I review I write it off a bad number. Today I fully believed it. My last quarter mile I was actually feeling nauseated. My heart rate dropped quickly for my cool down so in the end I averaged 175 bpm just like Tuesday. Just goes to show how miss leading numbers can be. Same distance; same time; same average heart rate; and nearly the same max, but today’s run was very different. Today’s run was much harder.
When you guys come out here this summer I’ll have to show you some stuff “outside of town.” Believe it or not you can get outside of LA pretty quickly. Of course I won’t be able to offer you a job, but don’t let Christy write SoCal of too fast.

Swim and Friday
This morning (Friday) I had a lighter workout in the weight room, arms and shoulders, but only 6 total exercises and lighter weights. I am not as sore from yesterday's swim as I was on Wednesday from Tuesday's swim. That sentence sucked but you get my drift. Anyway, I then ran a 5k on the treadmill with a few hills thrown in, sweet program called a 5k fun run. The freaking machine shut off on my when I was at 4.65 kilometers and running down the homestretch at 10.0 mph. Slammed into the front of the treadmill and let out a mild expletive! I think my time was somewhere around 19:high 40's or low 50's. I was booking man. Pissed. That would put my average pace around 6:52 or so up to that point. If you carry it out using the 10.0 mph that I was running, then it would be around 21 minutes. Pace would have been around 6:46. I was feeling real strong and think that I can push through to around a 6:40 mile within the next two weeks. I need to get to below 6:30 if I am going to finish the 5k in under 20 (my ridiculous goal).

Yesterday and Today
Hopefully things are getting back to normal for you both. Well, probably not for you Mike, but at least for Jason. I was very sorry to hear about Natalie's test results and have been thinking about you both since she called. My thoughts and prayers are directed towards you and your wonderful wife. I know things will turn out for the best. So, on with my post...
I didn't get to bed until around 1 am on Tuesday night (wired from the swim I guess), so consequently I didn't get out of bed to work out on Wednesday morning. But I managed to ride the trainer at home, real hard for 50 minutes while watching Bourne Identiy.
Today I got up at 5:25, lifted close grip back (did 6 unassisted pull-ups, woohoo!) and only managed around a mile of running and a mile of walking. I didn't even keep track of time or heart rate. I was totally exhausted from the bike ride. My legs are absolutely mush right now. The bike last night combined with helping the Coleman's move from their three story house on Tuesday evening before my swim, combined with climbind stairs at school and home today...my legs are beat down. I think I will work shoulders and arms on Friday, and go for a run based on how I feel, then Saturday will be my legs/abs workout with a long run, if it isn't raining I will run outside.
Jason, I just opened an account with EmigrantDirect, do you also bank with them? Just curious. Also, I got to touch butts today in my palpation class, and had my first experience with trying to feel bony protrusions on a rather overweight individual. At first I felt awkward, but you just have to push in a little harder and farther adn get used to it. It is exciting to finally be able to get hands on.
Love you both, and look forward to palpating your ischial tuberosities soon. j/k
